A SELKIRK man who admitted driving while more than three times the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 40 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Fifty-six-year-old Murray Ballantyne, of Elm Row, pleaded guilty to driving with a breath/alcohol count of 75 microgrammes – the legal limit being 22 – in Guthrie Drive, Hawick, on August 10.
Ballantyne was also ordered to carry out 200 hours unpaid work as an alternative to custody.
