APPROVAL has been granted to demolish a 200-year-old farm cottage near Galashiels deemed to be in a state of disrepair.
A prior notice for demolition application has been approved by Scottish Borders Council for the building situated to the north west of Nether Blainslie, between New Blainslie Farm to the east and Mereburn, a modern bungalow, to the west.
In her report approving the demolition, Julie Hayward, SBC’s lead planning officer, states: “The building is a 200-year-old-farm cottage, last occupied in the 1950s and now in a dangerous state of disrepair.”
