A 24-YEAR-OLD man has been charged in connection with a series of thefts in the Borders.
The three incidents reportedly took place at locations in Galashiels, Duns and Kelso between May 2023 and May 2024.
The total value of vehicles and equipment stolen was estimated to be over £200,000, according to police, with a number of the vehicles being subsequently recovered in County Durham.
A Police Scotlan spokesperson said that further enquiries remained ongoing and the man was expected to appear at court at a later date.
Detective Constable Callum Wood, from Hawick’s Proactive Crime Team, said: “We’d like to thank the public for their assistance with our ongoing enquiries into these incidents and reassure them that acquisitive crime remains a local priority we are committed to.
“If anyone has any concerns about criminality in their area, they can report this to police on 101, or 999 in an emergency.”
