A SELKIRK man who sent abusive messages to his former partner on Snapchat has been fined £300 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Twenty-five-year-old Michael Futter sent a number of unwanted messages to the woman and police were called in July.
He admitted being intoxicated when he called her abusive names.
In addition to the fine he was given a three-year non-harassment order preventing any contact with the woman and ordered to pay a £20 victim surcharge.
