A 50-YEAR-OLD man has admitted a drug dealing charge at Jedburgh Sheriff Court after being caught with almost two kilos of cannabis.

Paul Richardson pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the class B drug following a police search of a property in Eildon Road, Hawick, on January 27. 

The court was told the haul – which weighed 1,873 grams – had an estimated street value of between £7,675 and £18,710. 

Richardson, who gave an address in Galashiels, had sentence deferred until November 4 for background reports.

Co-accused 51-year-old Andrew Mercer, from Hawick, pleaded guilty to possession of £150 worth of amphetamine and also had sentence deferred for reports.
