A NEW heritage centre has been unveiled in a Borders village.

The Stow hub was opened by Lord Borthwick, whose family seat is Borthwick Castle.

He highlighted the Stow Archive's community contributions and celebrated the new centre, launched with help from Live Borders and various grant-making bodies.

This includes photographs, press cuttings, correspondence and artefacts.

It will be open to visitors and locals from Friday to Sunday, with free entry.

As a highlight of the opening ceremony, Lord Borthwick also contributed the first stitch to a new tapestry panel celebrating local history and activities (Image: Supplied) Jessica Troughton, the archive's treasurer, expressed her delight at Lord Borthwick's support for the new initiative.
