A COUPLE who admitted being concerned in the supply of heroin have been ordered to carry out 180 hours of unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Twenty-eight-year-old Zac Mawer and Nacisha Jones, who is 26, had been recruited to deal through their own drug use but were told by Sheriff Peter Anderson it was a “nasty, dirty trade”.
The court was told police seized two bags of heroin – weighing a total of 32.9g – along with around £1,000 in cash, after a raid on Jones’ flat address at Gala Park Gardens in Galashiels last year.
They pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of the Class A drug between January 20 and May 25, 2023, and also admitted possession of cocaine for which they were admonished.
On a separate complaint they admitted possession of Class C drugs diazepam and bromazolam at Mawer’s home in Somerville Way, Jedburgh.
For the possession offences they were each fined £200 with a £10 victim surcharge.
