A 25-YEAR-OLD man who admitted being in possession of a knife in Tweedbank has been ordered to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work at Selkirk Sheriff Court.

Hamza Alahmad pleaded guilty to the offence which happened in Tweedbank Drive and elsewhere on June 2.

Not guilty pleas to stealing a sum of money from a house in Broadlee Bank and then behaving in a threatening or abusive manner by brandishing a knife and uttering threats were accepted by the Crown.
