A 39-YEAR-OLD man who admitted a stalking offence involving his former partner has had his sentence deferred at Selkirk Sheriff Court for background reports.
Douglas Edgar, who gave an address in Edinburgh, pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which caused a former partner fear or alarm at a house in the Borders between August 1 and September 30.
Sheriff Peter Anderson said the behaviour was prolonged and called for a Criminal Justice Social Work Report and a Restriction of Liberty Order assessment.
The case will recall on November 25.
In addition, a Non-Harassment Order was imposed forbidding Edgar from having any contact with his former partner for five years.
