A NEW health information point is set to open in Galashiels library.
The initiative, created by the Health and Social Care Partnership and Live Borders, will officially launch on October 25.
The aim is to provide accessible health information and support services, particularly for those concerned about conditions like dementia.
The health information point will serve as a resource hub, offering leaflets and books on key health topics such as brain health, healthy eating, exercise and dementia care.
It will also guide individuals to local services for further assistance or specialised support.
Christine Proudfoot, nurse consultant and strategic lead for dementia for the Health and Social Care Partnership, said: "It is fantastic to be part of the planning and formal launch of a new health information point based within Galashiels library.
"There will be relevant books to borrow and resources to signpost, provide self-help and develop new connections in the community.
"The library in Galashiels is a lovely space and having a health information point there will be so valuable for people.
"Thank you to all involved in making this happen."
The initiative is part of a larger effort to provide the community with accurate and practical health information.
As health conditions such as dementia become more of a concern, the health information point offers guidance and resources to those in need.
The launch event is open to all at Galashiels library on October 25, from 2pm to 3pm.
