“Lilliesleaf Primary School provided tea and coffee for all to enjoy.

"Throughout the day raffle tickets were on sale with some extremely generous prizes up for grabs, kindly donated by local businesses and villagers.

"Dave Macdonell expertly auctioned the show produce after prizegiving, he is so good he sometimes sells things twice.

“We are delighted to have raised £2,000 from this year’s show. Every year we donate funds raised to the Harris Trust and one other chosen charity.

"This year we have donated £1,000 to Harris Trust and £1,000 to Care2Create.

“The money given to Harris Trust will go towards funding of the Selkirk High School tractor project.

"This is initiative has been set up for students who love machines and learning practical skills. The students will take an old Massey Ferguson apart, learn about how it functions and put it back together while learning valuable skills like welding.

"It is also a great exercise in teamwork.

“Care2Create is a community-based project providing creative art activities for local groups, individuals, people with mental health issues or physical disabilities.

"Socialising and meeting new people is the heart of what they do.

"The £1,000 donation will go towards materials.”
