A BORDERS road has closed in both directions due to a fallen tree, according to the council.
The local authority said the B6356 between Earlston and Redpath was shut due to the incident.
It said work was ongoing to clear the route and estimated it would reopen at 12pm.
It comes after strong winds associated with Storm Ashley swept across the Borders on Sunday.
A Met Office warning was in place in the region until 9am today (Monday).
