A 27-YEAR-OLD man who admitted a series of offences has been placed on supervision for two years at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said that Hugh Hutchison was a rare example of a Drug Treatment and Testing Order being successful.
He said he would be entitled to send Hutchison to jail for his offending but instead imposed an alternative to custody to reflect the success of the DTTO.
Hutchison has previously admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive manner at Borders General Hospital, vandalism and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
Hutchison, formerly of Galashiels and now living in Eyemouth, was also ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
