STOW Station House is set to open with a new tenant operator.

Andrew Glover and his wife Heather have been given the keys to the historic building.

The team will have a 'soft opening' on Wednesday, November 6 where guests can meet the team and have a few drinks.

The full opening with food available will be from Wednesday, November 13 and will be open five days a week.

Andrew Glover said: “We are looking forward to getting to know local folk and attracting new visitors to Stow Station House.

“Our focus is to provide high quality, reasonably priced, home-made food that will satisfy our customers.

“We’ll always be listening to feedback to make sure our customers go away happy and return.”

Stow Station House will be open between 4pm-10pm Wednesday to Saturday; and 12pm-5pm on a Sunday, with a carvery being served.

Andrew has a strong record within the hospitality industry including running the Clovenfords Hotel and training at The HoeBridge.

Stow Community Trust has over the last few years worked with partners to fund and design the restoration of the building.

Grace Murray, Chair of Stow Community Trust said: “The Trust has taken its time to make sure we have a tenant operator who will be able to realise the potential of this wonderful building.

“This is a unique opportunity for Andrew and his team given the incredible location of Stow Station House on the Borders Railway.

“We are looking forward to a long and successful relationship with Andrew and his team and to meeting friends, visitors and neighbours and enjoy great food and service in this historic building.”

Initially opened in 1848, Stow Station House was a ticket office and Station Masters home until the Waverley Line was closed in the 1960s.

The building was converted into private homes until the railway reopened.
