A FORMER storage unit could soon be transformed into a residential flat.
The planning application was submitted to Scottish Borders Council on November 1.
The interested party that is looking to purchase the building wants to convert two middle-floor storage units at 88-92 High Street, Galashiels, back to residential flats.
The property already has a flat on the top floor.
Currently, the units are used for storage connected to the commercial spaces on the ground floor.
The commercial spaces at the front of the property are the nail salon Nails 2 Love and the solicitors and estate agents Edingtons W.S
The application states that the units are currently empty and have kitchens and bathrooms.
The application says the building is not at risk of flooding and the proposed changes will not affect public rights of way, vehicle access, or trees.
Plans include arrangements for waste storage and recycling.
There is no timeline currently available for when a decision will be made by Scottish Borders Council.
