Borders writers are set to hold a book sale to support a children's charity.
The event is being organised by seven Borders authors affiliated with Silver Quill Publishing, a global publishing co-operative.
Taking place in The Wynd, Melrose, on Saturday, November 16, 10.30am to 3.30pm, the sale will raise funds for Selkirk-based charity Children First.
The writers involved in the event include debut novelists Peter Bromley and Maura Kennedy Fair, young adult fiction writer Robert Breustedt, and historical fiction novelist Pamela Gordon Hoad.
Pat Watts and Oliver Eade, a retired Borders General Hospital doctor and award-winning novelist, will also be participating.
Children First, established in 1884, relies on funding from individuals, businesses, communities, and organisations to continue supporting children and their families in the Borders.
The demand for help from Children First increased 'significantly' during the Covid-19 pandemic due to the added pressure of lockdowns on at-risk children.
The local writers hope the public will support their cause by browsing through books for all age groups and genres at the sale.
Silver Quill Publishing was established in 2018 after a group of authors decided to form a publishing co-operative, following the collapse of their independent publisher.
Disillusioned by the nature of mainstream publishing, they created an environment where authors support rather than compete with each other.
Since then, the co-operative has expanded to include 17 writers from various countries.
