A DUNS man who admitted driving while more than double the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road for 15 months at Jedburgh Sheriff Court.
Forty-five-year-old Nuno Tavares pleaded guilty to driving with an alcohol/urine count of 152 milligrammes – the legal limit being 67 – in Market Square, Duns, on February 2.
Prosecutor Drew Long said the vehicle driven by Tavares came to the attention of police officers around 11pm and after they stopped it they could smell alcohol from his breath.
The self-employed window cleaner was also fined £400 with a £20 victim surcharge.
