A Borders holiday home has received recognition at a national holiday let award ceremony.

The Kelso property, 2 Abbey Row received Silver in the Best in Scotland category at The Sykes Gems Awards 2024.

The awards celebrate the best holiday let properties in the country with the first awards held in 2017.

The Abbey Row property described as “a stylish first-floor apartment” boasts a five-star rating.

Guests have praised the property for its cleanliness, reasonable price, location and helpful host.

The property has three bedrooms, a shower room, an open-plan living space and a shared front courtyard.

James Shaw, managing director of Sykes Holiday Cottages, said: “We know how hard our owners work to ensure their properties remain at a high standard year-round and it is great to be able to reward their efforts.

“While it was difficult to choose winners after receiving so many wonderful entries, these three Scottish properties were clear front runners that deliver unforgettable breaks for guests.”

The property was up against thousands of entries in 31 categories from across the UK and Ireland with the awards organised by Sykes Holiday Cottages.

A panel of judges, including industry experts assessed the properties from owners’ entries and guest feedback alongside photos, occupancy figures and amenities.

The panel said they were impressed by the facilities and style of the property along with guest feedback, cleanliness, value for money and comfort.

The Kelso holiday let was one of three Scottish winners alongside Woodend Croft in Pitmedden, Aberdeenshire winning Gold in the Best in Scotland category.

Druidaig Cottages in Letterfearn in the Scottish Highlands also won in the Best for Views category.
