A 38-YEAR-OLD woman went on a spending spree with the bank card of her mother’s partner, Selkirk Sheriff Court has been told.
Jade Brown pleaded guilty to using the bank card details for groceries and take-away food amounting to £3,300.
The offence took place at a house in Stonefield Place, Hawick, over a five-month period earlier this year.
Prosecutor Drew Long said the victim was Brown’s mother’s partner and she had taken a photo of the card.
Sheriff Peter Paterson said it was a serious matter and Brown had been stealing from what was effectively her father-in-law.
He urged Brown to start repaying the money as that would have some bearing on the court’s view when it came to sentencing.
Sentence was deferred until December 9 for background reports.
