PLANS for a 150MW solar farm have been submitted to Scottish Borders Council.
The developer, Voltalia, intends to construct the solar farm on Bowshiel Farm, covering an area approximately 2km by 1km.
The site is near the A1 southbound from Cockburnspath and would go along the boundary of Bowshiel Woods.
If approved, the project is expected to take 18 months to complete and could operate for 40 years.
The proposed farm would generate 170MW of power and include battery storage for 150MW.
A detailed report was initially submitted to the Scottish Government in September.
A scoping opinion has been requested from government ministers to confirm the project poses no environmental hazards, with a deadline of December 10.
There is no current timeline on when there will be a decision by Scottish Borders Council.
