URGENT repairs are being carried out in a Borders town after the discovery of gas leaks.
Scottish Gas Networks (SGN) engineers were called out to Oxnam Road, Jedburgh, on Sunday (November 24) to investigate reports of an escape.
The company said a fractured main had been repaired but a separate leak was needing to be fixed.
SGN spokesperson Dan Brown said: “We’re carrying out urgent repairs to our gas network along Oxnam Road to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply is delivered to local properties.
“Our engineers were called to investigate reports of a gas escape here on Sunday and we’ve been repairing the affected pipes since.
“We’ve managed to repair a fractured main, but we’re trying to identify and fix the source of a separate leak on another section nearby.
“Two-way temporary traffic lights are in operation around our work area for everyone’s safety.
“It’s still too early to say how long this work might take to complete.”
