A GALASHIELS man who was involved in a bust-up with his former partner after their relationship had ended has been fined £250 at Selkirk Sheriff Court.
Twenty-four-year-old Lee Aitken pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing, slamming a door and throwing an item of clothing at the woman at his Wood Street home on October 4.
Prosecutor Fiona Hamilton said the woman and her friend had turned up at his home to gather her belongings after the end of the relationship.
Initially there was no answer but eventually Aitken responded and started swearing asking what she was doing there. He slammed the door and acted in an aggressive manner before throwing a jumper at her and slamming the door shut.
The police were then contacted.
Defence lawyer Mat Patrick said: “She attended at the door when he did not want to see her. She was not welcome.”
In addition to the fine a £20 victim surcharge was added along with a three-year non-harassment order forbidding any contact with his former partner.
