A SCOTTISH charity has delivered its 500th aid-filled pickup truck to Ukraine.
Pickups for Peace (P4P) had an initial goal of delivering 50 vehicles to humanitarian and military organisations to rescue civilians and wounded in the war.
Peebles man Keith Dawson is one of the founders of the charity.
And the town's rotary club will be collecting donations on the High Street on Saturday (December 7) to send another pickup.
The fleet of vehicles has been driven by more than 1,000 volunteers, many of whom hail from the Borders.
Now, P4P plans to deliver its next convoy of vehicles in February, aiming for a new target of 600 vehicles in total.
These vehicles, which have been transporting medical and other aid, have reportedly saved at least 10 lives each during their service in Ukraine.
A spokesperson for P4P said: "That means these convoys have saved over 5,000 lives, over half the population of Peebles.
"That's 5,000 families not grieving this Christmas and 5,000 less empty seats at the Christmas dinner table.
"We are told by grateful Ukrainians that they also bring hope and the important knowledge they are not forgotten."
They added: "It's not often we get a chance to save lives, particularly those who are fighting for all our freedoms in Europe."
