EARLSTON Rhymers unveiled a new strip in memory of their late chairman Jimmy Forsyth at the weekend - and then netted a result that would make him proud.

The Runciman Park side lined-up for their annual team photo ahead of their 3-3 draw with Eyemouth on Saturday.

They wore his name on their shirts and their hearts on their sleeves as they bounced back from a goal down to net a late equaliser after throwing away an early advantage.

And the Border Amateur League Division B club, who revealed Jimmy would always remain a fixture at the club, were supported from the sidelines by his widow Grace who admitted her husband would have been honoured by the tribute.

Rhymers goalkeeper Lee Manderson, who pointed out their former chairman was made an Honorary President in recognition of his commitment to the club shortly before he passed away in the summer, said: “Jimmy kept the club running for years - football was his life - and this was just our way of remembering him.”
