SELKIRK manager Ian Fergus hopes to unveil up to nine new players this weekend as his team begin their pre-season fixtures.
The Yarrow Park boss has already signed Reece Donaldson from Linlithgow Rose as well as completing a season-long loan deal for Lewis Turkington.
They were joined this week by centre half Dan Greig from Dalkeith Thistle and experienced strikers, Sean Muhsin from Linlithgow Rose and Kris Mitchell from Hawick Royal Albert.
A further two or three players who have been training with the squad over the past few weeks are expected to play some part in Saturday's match with Jarrow Roofing as trialists ahead of signing.
Manager Fergus told us: "The squad is shaping up really well and the boys are looking as fit as I've seen them.
"There are teams with bigger budgets than ours and I believe we have done well to bring in the quality of player so far.
"I have kept ten or 11 from last season and hope to have nine new players signed before the start of the season."
Saturday's opponents, Jarrow Roofing, play in the Northern Football League.
The South Tyneside team are expected to give Fergus' new-look team a stiff test at Yarrow Park.
The manager added: "From all accounts Jarrow Roofing are a fairly decent team who play in a strong league.
"We will have a squad of around 20 players on Saturday so there is a chance to give everyone a good run out.
"We've been training right through the close season so our fitness levels should be good."
In other friendlies Hawick Royal Albert, who were beaten 2-1 by Cavalry Park, travel to face Coldstream on Saturday at Home Park.
And on Monday evening Vale of Leithen travel to Whitestone Park to face neighbours Peebles Rovers.
Selkirk's match with Jarrow Roofing kicks off at 2pm.
