Selkirk 0-1 Cumbernauld Colts
SELKIRK suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday at the hands of Cumbernauld Colts.
An unstoppable overhead kick by Sean Brown on 76 minutes was enough for Raymond Innes’ side to gain all three points, despite some good play from the Souters.
Selkirk manager Ian Fergus told the Border Telegraph: “We certainly can’t be disappointed with the way we played. We played really well and I think we should have won the game.
“We had three great one on one chances, but in the last 15 minutes they scored a great goal.
“Of course we’re disappointed with the result, but it was a really good game. We were without Dan Greig and Unpha Koroma, so they were a big miss for us, but now we’ll dust ourselves down and get ready to go again.
“I think Cumbernauld will be a top four side and I’m really pleased because we matched them.
“We have got six out of a possible nine points and a very good goal difference. I think we would have taken that before the season started.”
