GALA Fairydean Rovers fought back from two goals down this afternoon and scored eight times without reply and progress to the second round of the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup.
Goals from Kane Davies and Michael Mackenzie shocked the home fans but after that it was one way traffic at Netherdale.
Jack Beaumont made it 2-1 in the 26th minute and Nicky Reid squared the tie nine minutes later.
Two minutes after that Liam Watt made it 3-2 then one minute later Reid scored his second of the day.
And to cap off a wonderful spell Jamie Semple added a fifth just before the break.
Semple scored his second three minutes after the restart and secured his second hat trick of the season in the 56th minute.
Substitute Lasana Drammeh made it 8-2 in time added on.
The draw for the second round will take place at 5pm tomorrow.
The full match report with reactions will be in next week’s Border Telegraph.
